CKP Annual Requirements

Annual CLE Requirement: 

 

  • Credits: 8 total, 2 must be ethics. 
  • Completed by: December 31, 2024. 
  • Reported by: January 31, 2025



Annual Membership Requirement:

  • Must maintain KPA Membership & renewal annually
  • This includes paying dues, fees, fines or other monies.
  • The membership renewal deadline is January 31 each year.

  • New CKPs who are not yet KPA members must complete a KPA membership application within 45 days of notification of CKP exam results. 

Although a few requirements have been highlighted above, CKPs must follow all program requirements found in the Certification Policy. CKPs are encouraged to stay up to date regarding all responsibilities outlined in the Certification Program Policy.

FAQs

Q: I'm not sure how many CLE credits I currently have. Can KPACC tell me how many credits I have? 

A: Yes. However, be aware a response may take 2-4 weeks. KPACC consists of 5 volunteers who must manually calculate CLE credits. This process can be time consuming as we perform a review of CKP records. 

Q: Can I see my CLE credit balance on the website? 

A: No. Not at this time. However, some major updates are in the works to bring CLE balances and submission to the digital age. Stay tuned!

Q: May I carry over excess CLE credits? 

A: Yes. Carry over credits are outlined in Section 9.01(G) of the Certification Program Policy

Q: I won't be able to complete the required credits by the end of the year. May I request an extension? 

A: Yes. Extension requests for completing credits are outlined in Section 9 of the Certification Program Policy. The required form can be found here.

Q: I won't be able to complete the membership requirement by the specified time. May I request an extension?

Q: My certification was revoked. May I apply to get my certification back? 

A: Yes. The process for obtaining your certification after being revoked is outlined in Section 9.01 of the Certification Program Policy. The required form can be found here

Q: May I voluntarily withdraw from the CKP program? 

A: Yes. The process for voluntary withdraw is outlined in Section 12 of the Certification Program Policy. The required form can be found here
